Documents to support BLM's Solar Energy Program

On April 20, 2012 BLM released the documents shown below supporting its efforts to establish a Solar Energy Program through the Solar Programmatic EIS. Through the Draft Solar PEIS and the Supplement to the PEIS the BLM described how it may utilize monitoring, adaptive management, regional mitigation plans and design features as elements of the proposed Solar Energy Program. Many commenters expressed an interest in reviewing and providing input on these elements of the program ahead of the publication of the Final Solar PEIS. The BLM has released these documents in response to those requests and welcomes further engagement on these topics. The documents do not involve substantial changes to the proposed action or include significant new circumstances or information relevant to environmental concerns.

Please forward any comments or questions you may have to Shannon Stewart at shannon_stewart@blm.gov (202-912-7219). The BLM will consider comments received as it develops final versions of the frameworks and programmatic design features to be included in the Final Solar PEIS. Input on these topics would be most helpful if received before May 14, 2012.
